Muir Woods

Two of our friends from socal came up to visit for a few days, and we arranged a day trip to see the giant redwood trees at Muir Woods. This has been on my to-do list for quite a while, so I was excited to go.

We had quite an adventurous hike! We managed to avoid a swarm of bees among other unusual things we encountered.

We went back to the city for some sight-seeing afterwards.

Mori Point

I’ve been wanting to explore the Bay Area more, so on our Labor Day holiday, Jon and I went hiking with a friend at Mori Point in Pacifica.

We started our morning with brunch at Sweet Maple. Jon ordered their famous millionaire’s bacon, a super thick cut of bacon baked with maple syrup.

The trail started with an easy stroll along the beach, and became moderately difficult as we went up the steep hill.

It was a beautiful day for a hike. I was surprised to see how blue the ocean was. You can still see the morning fog in the distance.

The coastal trail runs along the hills, so there were spectacular views at every turn.

Parts of the trail were steep and narrow, but we took our time and slowly made our way to the cliffs.

It was a great hike! We will definitely have to visit again in the spring the see the green hills and wildflowers.

Pleasanton Ridge

I’ve been trying to go to the gym recently, but it’s not the same as getting outside. At least that’s what Kathy said when she dragged me over to Pleasanton Ridge over July 4th. It was her birthday “weekend”, so what choice did I have?
